Water medicators and dosing pumps for livestock and poultry
Dosing Systems Australasia supplies water-driven medicators and dosing pumps for livestock and poultry producers. Our AquaBlend, MixRite and Chemilizer injectors run on the water flowing through them, so there is no electricity needed at the point of injection, and they mix medication, vaccines, supplements and cleaning products into drinking water lines in proportion to flow.
Alongside water medication, we supply portable hose-end foamers and sprayers for farm biosecurity and wash-down, backed by local technical advice from our Northmead, NSW base. If you have an application that is not listed here, contact our team and we will confirm what we can supply.
- Water-driven and non-electric: powered by your existing water pressure and flow.
- Proportional dosing: adjusts to variations in water pressure and animal consumption.
- One range for: medication, vaccination, water line cleaning and farm biosecurity.
- Easy maintenance: AquaBlend maintenance needs no tools.
- Local support: Australian supply and technical advice.
Drinking water medication and vaccination
The AquaBlend is designed to deliver precise medication and treatment for water, in two adjustable models: 0.4% to 2% and 1% to 5%, with flows from 0.17 to 41 L/min. It suits vaccination, medications, treating water and adding nutrients and supplements, and maintenance needs no tools. MixRite pumps inject treatments such as antibiotics, probiotics and supplements directly into the water line, adjusting to variations in water pressure or animal consumption. Always follow the product label and veterinary advice for dose rates.
Water line cleaning between treatments
AquaBlend Xtreme is built to medicate water and also handle water line cleaning chemicals, in 2% and 5% variable models that take both liquid chemicals and wettable powders. Its published list of compatible cleaners includes acetic acid, citric acid, hydrogen peroxide, peracetic acid (5% or less), chlorine (500 ppm or less) and sodium hypochlorite. MixRite pumps are also suited to disinfecting water lines, helping maintain animal health and sanitation standards.
Farm biosecurity and wash-down
The HydroFoamer and HydroSprayer are portable, non-electric hose-end units, widely used to support biosecurity practices and general sanitation at truck entrances and exits, barn interiors and farm equipment, cool cell pads and loading bays, and hatcheries. The HydroFoamer lid gives a clinging foam with longer soak time, and the HydroSprayer lid gives a fine mist suited to no-rinse sanitisers. This is general information only. For biosecurity requirements, follow the Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF), your state or territory department of primary industries and Farm Biosecurity, and always follow the chemical manufacturer’s label. See our guides to H5 bird flu and farm biosecurity and choosing a foamer or sprayer.
Protecting the equipment
Debris in the water supply wears the parts that do the measuring, and a filter upstream is the simplest protection. The Twist II Clean is a self cleaning stainless steel filter that backwashes in under 20 seconds without shutting off the water. Chemilizer is the exception: its diaphragm water motor is unaffected by sand or mineral content, with no need for water filtration. Our guides explain why a dosing pump needs a water filter and how to choose a water-driven dosing pump.

Frequently asked questions
What is a water medicator?
A water medicator is a water-driven dosing pump that mixes medication, vaccines or supplements into drinking water at a set ratio. It runs on the flow and pressure of the water supply, with no electricity at the point of injection, and the dose stays in proportion to the water passing through it.
How does a water medicator adjust to how much the animals drink?
The dose is tied to the water passing through the pump, so the medication follows consumption. MixRite pumps adjust to variations in water pressure or animal consumption, which keeps the mix at the set ratio whether the flock or herd is drinking heavily or lightly. Always follow the product label and veterinary advice for dose rates.
What is the difference between AquaBlend and AquaBlend Xtreme?
Both are water-driven medicators with adjustable ratios. AquaBlend Xtreme is also built to handle water line cleaning chemicals and wettable powders, and publishes a list of compatible cleaners, so it suits programs that alternate between treatment and line cleaning.
Which products can I use to clean water lines between treatments?
AquaBlend Xtreme is built for it, and handles wettable powders as well as liquids. Its published list of compatible cleaners includes acetic acid, apple cider vinegar, formic acid, lactic acid and hydrogen peroxide, along with chlorine (500 ppm or less) and peracetic acid (5% or less). Check seal compatibility for anything not on the list, and always follow the chemical product label.
What are the HydroFoamer and HydroSprayer used for on farms?
They are portable, non-electric hose-end units that mix concentrate as it is applied, as a clinging foam or a fine mist. They are widely used to support biosecurity practices and general sanitation at farm entrances, barns and equipment, cool cell pads and loading bays, and hatcheries. For biosecurity requirements, follow DAFF and your state or territory authority, and always follow the chemical label.
How do I choose a water medicator for my flock or herd?
Start with the water flow your drinker lines carry at their lowest and highest, the water pressure at the pump, the product you are dosing and the dose rate on its label. AquaBlend suits drinking-water medication and vaccination, AquaBlend Xtreme suits programs that also clean the lines, and MixRite suits treatments and supplements. Contact the DSA team with your shed or herd details and we will match a model.
