Spray is about coverage
A sprayer produces a fine mist rather than a foam. It covers ground faster and uses less product per square metre, which suits no-rinse sanitisers and large flat areas where dwell time is less of a problem. It is also the better choice where foam residue would be a nuisance to rinse away.
Many operations end up using both: foam for the clean, spray for the sanitise. Some units let you swap between the two by changing the lid, which means one body, one spare parts list and one thing to store.
Why Dilution Accuracy Matters More Than It Looks
A hose-end unit is only doing its job if the ratio it delivers is the ratio you set. Get it wrong in either direction and it costs you.

What to Look For When Choosing a Unit
- Dilution range. Check the unit covers the ratio your chemical actually calls for, at both the rich and lean ends. A unit that bottoms out above your required dilution is no use.
- Container capacity. Larger containers mean fewer refills on big jobs, but more weight to carry. Match it to the size of the area and how long you are on the trigger.
- Fittings. Plastic quick connects are fine for light duty. If the unit is being dragged around a yard daily, a metal quick connect option is worth having.
- Rinse capability. Being able to disconnect the concentrate and rinse through the same unit saves swapping equipment mid job.
