Description
A Dosmatic or MixRite water-driven injector can be plumbed into a bypass configuration, using only a small portion of the water flow to drive the injector.
This setup allows a relatively small injector to proportionally inject large flows of water cost-effectively.
While not suitable for absolute precision, this system effectively distributes liquid fertiliser through irrigation over large areas.
It can also incorporate chlorine or acids when filling storage tanks from dam or ground water.
A gate valve in the main irrigation pipework diverts a small water flow through the Dosmatic or MixRite injector, where it’s mixed with concentrate and returned to the main flow.
You can adjust the chemical dosage by opening/closing the gate valve or setting the injection percentage on the injector.
Calibration is crucial for this setup, ideal for systems with consistent water flow in the main pipework.
Installation Manifold
Using an isolation manifold with your injector has clear benefits.
Untreated water flows through the main irrigation pipework. Simply turn the two lateral ball valves ‘On’ and slowly turn the mainline ball valve ‘Off’. This diverts water through the injector to mix the desired concentrate into the irrigation flow.
To revert to untreated water, turn the mainline ball valve ‘On’ and the two lateral valves ‘Off’.
If servicing is needed, the injector can be easily removed without disrupting your irrigation.
An additional benefit is that having the injector below the main line prevents air from entering, avoiding damage to the motor piston assembly.
